Job Description:
- Create concepts and prototypes for mechanical and related components
- Design and develop mechanical parts for medical device products
- Design and develop jigs and fixtures per testing and manufacturing requirements
- Plan and perform relevant testing required for products and instrumentation, based on internal testing requirements, and current compliance and regulatory standards.
- Generate supporting documentation and reports
- Liaise with vendors on component and tooling manufacturing
- Perform research & development duties, including
1. Test method design, design evaluation, design reviews, design specifications, design verification and validation, design transfer and OEM co-ordination.
2. Support product risk analysis and risk management.
3. Source new materials, components and equipment.
4. Development of component specifications, inspection methods, bills of materials and manufacturing processes.
5. Validate product design in preclinical or/and clinical settings
- Maintain awareness of current technological developments and accepted industry standards
- Some level of travel across China will be required to visit vendors and attend relevant conferences.
Requirements on Qualification:
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. Bachelor’s degree (with 5+ of industrial experience) or Master’s degree (with 3+ year of industrial experience) in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
2. Sound experience in designing, processing, testing and manufacturing of mechanical components/products, preferably in the medical device area
3. Able to use a 3D CAD package (e.g. Pro.E or Solidworks) to produce component designs, layout and detailed drawings
4. Familiar with statistical tools, e.g. Minitab
5. Familiar with FEA software
6. Appreciation of current manufacturing techniques and technology
7. Appreciation of mechanical principles
8. Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
9. Speak and write Mandarin and English fluently
10. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
11. Able to travel domestically and internationally

3. Strong work ethic and initiative in accomplishing objectives.

- DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering (or related advanced degree)
2. Experience in development of medical products
3. Knowledge of implantable medical devices, physiology and anatomy
