The Role:
J.P. Morgan is seeking talented candidates for a position as a Strategy Analyst/Associate in our C&IB Strategy Group, based in Shanghai. The group functions as an internal consulting group and works on a project-basis to address the topics at the top of senior management agendas. This role will provide the opportunity to work on many initiatives across the Corporate & Investment Banking organization.
Projects will include developing international growth strategies, assessing and planning new product and market entry, strategic business deep dives, strategic investments, improving operational efficiency and effectiveness, setting technology and operations strategy, acquisitions/divestitures, and designing cross-C&IB wide initiatives. Our focused group of professionals is composed of top performers from top strategy consulting firms, investment banks, other internal JPMorgan Chase groups, and top undergraduate and graduate programs.
Associates on the CIB Strategy team are responsible for working with project managers who lead strategic planning, business analysis and other internal consulting projects that support high impact improvements that lead to profitable growth.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Support group on projects identified by senior managers of the Corporate & Investment Bank
2. Gather, synthesize, analyze and present project data and findings
3. Financial modeling and valuation analysis
4. Execute creative analyses and provide insight to identify issues and arrive at recommendations
5. Develop strategic presentations for both internal and external audiences
6. Simultaneously work on multiple projects across CIB
The position represents an excellent opportunity for candidates to:

Qualifications
Specific capabilities / skills required:
1. 3-5 years experience in banking, markets, investor services and/or strategy consulting is desired, with knowledge of the financial services industry
2. Understanding of the various businesses/products within CIB. Knowledge on China banking / finance sector would be a plus
3. Should be fluent in Chinese language - written and verbal both
4. Experience in working in a Matrix structure and with cross-border teams
5. Excellent and efficient skills using MS Excel and PowerPoint tools (absolutely required)
6. Good understanding of financial modeling, valuation and presentation development
7. Strong research and analysis skills with ability to synthesize and interpret data
8. Identifying implications of analysis and ‘so whats’ of the data and analysis with the team
9. An outstanding ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), and work well in cross-functional teams
10. Ability to quickly learn and understand new concepts / businesses
11. A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
12. Ability to identify process improvement opportunities to improve overall client experience
13. Team player and demonstrated work ethic - consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism in behavior and performance
14. Effective prioritization skills to meet a complex set of business demands and demonstrate delivery against multiple objectives.
15. Proven ability to manage projects in a way that reduces risk, ensures predictable results, meets or exceeds its timeline
16. Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers
