JOB ROLE SUMMARY
Systems Engineers ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions and customers. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all operating systems assigned. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under formal mentorship
Owns low complexity assignments. Augments team on moderate to high complexity assignments
Receives necessary training (more time then advanced levels)
Under continuous evaluation.
Manages time, responsibilities, and priorities effectively with emphasis on their contribution
Basic understanding of Computer processing operations and Operating Systems.
Review computer systems logs and highlight potential issues for further research.
Write basic computer batch and shell scripts to solve reporting or automation issues.
Add, remove and modify user access to systems with basic uidance and assistance.
Answer basic user questions related to process and procedure to facilitate problem resolution.
Install basic software licenses for renewals.
Reset file permissions and make modifications to directory structures as needed.
Assist in monitoring and tuning the application
Remidate system vulnerabilities based on documentation and research.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Typically requires no previous professional experience
Preferred
None to limited knowledge of Acxiom product or tools knowledge
Desired:
Exposure to Window/Linux/ESX/Unix - dependent upon specific Operation System
Basic understanding of server computing
Travel %
10%-20%
