职位描述

Purpose:
The Transmission Regional Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for the Product Engineering activities to support the launch of a new high technology transmission in China. The transmission is being designed in a co-development agreement between COMPANY and a partner company, with North America taking the lead. The Transmission Regional Chief Engineer responsibilities include being the Product Engineering communication link between the North America engineering team and the partner company, leading hand-on root cause analysis of test incidents in China, monitoring the design and release status, supporting supplier quality reviews, and monitoring and reporting on local validation activities. The position requires significant powertrain engineering technical expertise and strong communication skills with Company and the partner company. This position will be required to provide engineering direction and have interpersonal and leadership skills to work in a co-development partnership environment and lead partner company employees.


Areas of Responsibility
· Regional Assistant Chief Engineer for new transmissions launch. Responsible to lead local program Product Engineering activities for COMPANY, working closely with the COMPANY North America and partner company’s engineer teams, including:
o understand and maintain technical direction,
o hands-on root cause analysis on local test incidents,
o direct prototype build activities,
o support transmission plant launch and component supplier quality activities,
o represent Product Engineering in Change Management,
o participate in program management gate reviews
o implement continuous improvement
· Communicate with transmission integration centers (both JV and partner) to achieve vehicle goals.
· Provide strong communication and linkage to COMPANY.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

Knowledge and skills:
· Transmission design and program management experience (5 yrs required, 10 yrs preferred).
· Hands-on root cause analysis and problem solving skills. Must be comfortable in prototype build, teardown, test/dynamometer, and factory environments.
· Good communication skills verbal and written (English – required, Chinese preferred).
· Be able to work off-site in a difficult partnership situation.

Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
· Prior Powertrain engineering work experience
