? Work with ** global engineering and Supplier Development organization in assessment of supplier’s capabilities and to development supplier capabilities.
? Apply advanced knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes to guide the improvement of supplier performance to **’s requirements.
? Provide design and validation support for suspension elastomers/Suspension/chassis systems (provide DFEMA , validation and warranty optimization for ** projects)
? Work involves development and execution of emerging market specifications and lead of the teams globally for elastomers/Suspension/chassis
? Work involves providing technical assistance in the identification and development of suppliers to ** and in the sourcing of elastomers/Suspension/chassis systems
? Work involves understanding, analysis and benchmarking of competition for suspension elastomers/Suspension/chassis systems
? Work with ** Global Engineering in the development of new elastomers/Suspension/chassis technologies for use in ** vehicles around the world.
? Work with ** Global Engineering and suppliers to develop alternatives to the engineering and manufacturing processes that are acceptable to both.
? Independent judgment is required with some direction from the supervisor.

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of automotive elastomers/Suspension/chassis systems
- Knowledge of China market requirements and trends for elastomers/Suspension/chassis systems
- Knowledge of elastomers/Suspension/chassis system tuning parameters
- Knowledge of elastomers/Suspension/chassis system DFMEA
- Knowledge of validation procedures and execution
- Understanding of component and vehicle trade-offs of elastomers/Suspension/chassis systems
- Understand technical standards, part specifications, critical part characteristics and required process controls.
- 7 or more years experience in the development of elastomers/Suspension/chassis components for automotive usage.
- Experience in elastomers/Suspension/chassis testing and analysis.
- Experience in problem investigation and applying technical judgment to develop solutions.
- General business knowledge related to part sourcing and cost reduction.
- Other wheel and tire interface components or subsystems design experience.
- Experiences with multinational corporation engineering, quality, and manufacturing standards.
- Experience with ** processes, systems, and standards is desirable
- Previous Design, Supplier Development, or Supplier Quality experience.
- Expertise with problem solving tools i.e. 5 Why Analysis, 5 Phase, Red X, or similar.
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma.

Skills:

- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication skills to effectively lead, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations and instruct others in new techniques.
- Highly proficient oral and written communication skills in Mandarin and English.
- Basic PC skills, email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Proficient in math data access and interpretation, and part measurement.
- Ability to effectively organize and plan.

Experience/Education:

- Bachelor or master in Automotive Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree desirable.
- Knowledge of validation procedures for elastomers/Suspension/chassis systems

Competencies:

- Must have technical knowledge and experience of elastomers/Suspension/chassis systems
- Ability to travel both in China and oversea, Willing to travel regularly and work outside Shanghai for business related travel.
- Flexible, able to rapidly respond to new situations and to perform multiple tasks
- Ability to effectively plan and timely decision, Independent, self motivated, goal oriented, and persistent
- Diligent, accurate, precise, thorough and highly organized
- High level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition
and resolution of problems those are somewhat unique and diverse. Ability to exercise independent judgment is required.
- Considerable creativity in brake system
- Willing to conduct and participate in conference calls outside normal work hours.
