职位描述

Responsibilities:

l Identify qualified plants whose cost, quality, production and delivery capabilities meet current and anticipated product and customer requirements in a variety of materials, i.e., laminates, metal and glass, veneers, and others as requested.

l Develop and implement a "pro-active" audit and reporting program to insure that all Bush Industries' vendors achieve and maintain the required level of technical and social operating profiles.

l Work with China-based Quality function (currently headed by Larry Genareo and Darren Chriest) to insure acceptable level of quality performance and to anticipate and resolve any issues. Escalate issues for senior-level review as necessary.

l Develop measurement data and issue reports on recurring issues and resolutions. Follow up and take a leadership role when/where required to insure that those issues referred to others for resolution actually were resolved in a timely and effective manner.

l Interface regularly and effectively with US-based demand management to be able to anticipate and evaluate delivery needs/levels and current performance. Anticipate and act quickly to resolve any problems immediately. Elevate issues to higher management quickly when support is needed.

l Maintain a close interface with US-based technical function (especially on new product launch) to insure timeliness and quality of plant start up on new products.

l As required, interface with Strategic Sourcing to insure that China efforts are fully aligned with and supportive of other world-wide priorities for product development and delivery.

l Interface as required with our subsidiary in Germany (Roehr) to provide assistance as may be requested or required.

l Interface with supported Marketing groups in the US to understand the strategic purpose of the products sourced and their importance in marketing and customer priority.

l Hire, train, evaluate and develop all staff in the Sourcing department to increase the level of competency in the office. Work to retain productive staff members.

l Insure the smooth and consistent operation of the Sourcing function by implementing and managing administrative processes dealing with correspondence, travel, supplies, invoices, and billing. Negotiate best price with vendors and review billing before payment to insure that invoicing is consistent with negotiated agreements.


Qualifications:

l 7-10 years documented successful experience in Asian sourcing of furniture, preferably with experience in companies that are considered industry leaders. Solid experience in negotiating with vendors. The successful candidate would typically bring knowledge of some plants that are currently involved in manufacture of furniture.

l Knowledge of furniture manufacturing, including QA and QC systems and procedures.

l Good ability to read and interpret product specification data and train plant personnel in the production of technically compliant product.

l Extremely detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.

l Organized in the work and in their approach to work.

l Willing to "own" their results and be accountable for success as well as occasional unfavorable results. Quick to anticipate and resolve issues that may have unfavorable results.

l Comfortable in gathering, presenting, tracking and reporting of business metrics.

l Excellent Microsoft Office skills, Word, Excel, a must - Access desirable.

l Intellectually curious about the business. Wants to learn, willing and able to suggest and/or implement continuous improved methods to current operational processes in any area of the business.

l Good work ethic. Able to flex his/her work week based on needs of the business.

l Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization in both Chinese and English (oral and written)

l Prior experience in travelling to the US and other international locations as required to perform necessary coordination and for initial training and orientation. Able to obtain required visas necessary for such travel immediately on hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

l Business degree or related from accredited university. MBA a plus.

l RTA experience.

l Prior background in US-owned companies.
