Summary
Senior Business Analysts (SBA) are responsible for identifying the business needs of their clients and stakeholders, in order to determine solutions to business problems. The SBA acts as a translator or liaison between the customer or user and the IT person or group attempting to meet this user’s needs.

As a translator, he or she elicits, analyzes, validates and documents business, organizational and/or operational requirements. SBAs are expected to have strong functional and technical finance knowledge and are expected to support multiple elements of large finance projects or multiple finance projects.

Roles and Responsibilities
SBAs are responsible for the developing functional requirements through use cases and process documentation and for facilitating key user sign off through review and agreement of requirements documents and through defining and supporting key users through user acceptance tests. SBA will also be responsible for approving training documentation, and ultimately the training of the end users. Specific responsibilities include:

？ Identify, document and implement business process improvements and changes.
？ Manage the day to day activities of (insert) and be responsible for defining and adhering to project deliverable due dates
？ Delivery of functional area requirements and responsibility for the successful configuration, processing and implementation thereof.
？ Development of the functional success criteria for each phase within the project lifecycle
？ Representing the user interests in system design and software configuration decisions.
？ Reconciliation of user requirements to the new system capabilities.
？ Liaison between user community and IT

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Experience
？ Good experience in a line role in the financial services industry (Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance) with specific financial control and accounting processes knowledge including exposure to multiple finance functions and /or finance applications.
？ Prior experience in design, development and documentation of finance processes, ERP / finance application configuration and test & conversion plans.
？ Strong understanding of the phases within the general project life cycles and project management methodologies and solutions
？ Strong written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to liaise with and influence senior stakeholders.
？ Leadership abilities and experience managing a team
？ Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and manage key stakeholder interests while managing conflicting priorities and business interests.

？ Effective management and timely issuance of project status reports , project plans, budgets, and other related artifacts
？ Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and SMEs.
？ Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
？ Quickly learn and demonstrate willingness to take responsibility and ownership of tasks related to the completion of the project.
