Position Overview:

The Hardware Services group at National Instruments has an opening for a Repair Services Technician. As a Repair Technician you are responsible to troubleshoot circuitry down to the component level, repair the board and report repair data to service center. You will need to perform the CCA repair in accordance to the print, ECO requirement and soldering acceptance level. Repair Technician need to be in compliance to rework/ repair procedures and support repair operation services for NI products. This position offers the opportunity to work with manufacturing groups throughout National Instruments to deliver world class service to our customers.

Responsibilities;

1.Troubleshoot modules and Analog circuit cards to the component level, test, and calibrate products using various software and hardware including automated test equipment.

2.Contribute and improve daily on-time delivery (OTD) performance, past due rate and backlog reduction plans

3.Ensure repair operation adherence to Quality Management System and company policies

4.Assembly and disassembly of complex mechanical assemblies using work instruction, fixtures and other tools.

5.Provide technical feedback to both Manufacturing and Design teams based on root cause determination

6.Train other technicians using various documents including BOM's, Schematics, Component Data Sheets , Test Procedures, Troubleshooting Guides, Block Diagrams and Theory of Operation.

7.Maintain the RMA repair station, infrastructure, tool and equipment

8.Experience in using test instruments such as spectrum analyzers, power meters and signal generators

9.Report repair data to service center for product improvement.

Requirements:

1.Minimum Diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification & working experience

2.Debug experience and excellent problem solving techniques are essential

3.Working experience in CCA manufacturing environment (e.g. SMT, Wave, etc)

4.Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in Solder Acceptances Requirements - IPC 610

5.Certified with component soldering technique/ skill set

6.Working experience in system integration and system test

7.NI product test/debug experience would be a plus.

8.Medically fit to lift instrument/ chassis averagely 30 pounds

9.Able to perform and deliver result under minimum level of supervision

10.Travel in or out of China
