Job Title

Field Engineer – Steam Turbine - Level I

Location

The home base shall be in Tianjin within the mWS facility ( Beijing or any other location in China as an exception, in special case only )

Purpose of the Job

The Field Engineer executes Steam Turbine erection works, directs and/or supervises the local erection staff for erection tasks of individual components and systems of his discipline without leadership function. The work is defined and coordinated by a superior technical lead.

Mission
Responsibilities

? Erection schedules, documents and procedures within discipline and assignment
? Expertise and experience to ensure performance complies with equipment/ system specifications
? Prepare erection work with necessary tools and consumables
? Report any non-compliance within discipline to superior
? Assure that equipment, instruments and tools are handled with care
? System walk downs and handovers with requirements
? Implement any technical issues associated with Alstom supplied equipment
? Inspection of carried out works and handover equipment within requirements.
? Coordinates with the superior on status of work
? Keeps daily logbook with all relevant information regarding non compliances, work tasks, improvements, delays, working times etc…
? Assures works are proceeded in compliance to the management systems
? Assures Field Service, project and site regulations are obeyed.
Accountabilities

? Promote the interests and image of Alstom at all times and behave according to the Alstom Code of Ethics and Values
? Acting according to defined Environmental, Health and Safety instructions, including general and company own rules
? Working according to processes and rules defined in the Management System.
Measurement/ KPI

? Equipments /systems are installed in compliance with specification and handed over to discipline superior
? Field Service reporting, record drawing and quality documentation made available
? Report of additional work (NCR, FSI) done
? Open item lists issued
? Experience feedback for improvement reported
? Time sheet issues
? “work record” filled out and signed off by site superior
? Tools, equipment and material prepared to be returned to origin.
? Initiative, speed of execution, personal skills- assessed by supervisor and reviewed at annual appraisal

Direct Report

Reports to the manager of the FSO department for `Rotating Equipment`

Network:
The position implies relations mainly:
? Within the Company with: Field Engineers within the same discipline, the Field Service project organization.
? Outside the Company: attending customer meetings, with site representatives (either within the office or at site itself) for liaison during installation.

Job Requirements
Knowledge and Experience

? Professional training, a mechanical apprenticeship, college education or mechanical field experience for some years.
? Capacity to handle problems efficiently by being creative and providing fresh insight.
? Ability of high work rate and handling multiple tasks at the same time.
