Key attributes of the job include:
1. Be a university graduate holding a qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Have 5+ years' experience working in the petrochemical industry in a position of some responsibility.
3. Have an excellent level of both verbal and written technical English.
4. Be able to demonstrate they proficiency in interpretation and implementation of the requirements of technical drawings.
5. Be able to demonstrating a familiarity with Chinese and International design codes and associated standards.
6. Have a good understanding of materials commonly used in the petrochemical industry.
7. Show a high level of confidence when working with DPT and the client's personnel.
8. Have the desire to gain an understanding of the process technologies supplied by DPT and will want to continuously improve the standard of the service and advice offered by DPT.
9. Willing to travel throughout China and represent DPT alone or as part of an engineering team for short periods of up to 14 days duration.
10. Demonstrate an ability to work independently and within a small team of multi-disciplined engineers.
You will require various skills and disciplines to meet your objectives. Challenges include:
Ensuring the correct interpretation of design intent through the visual inspection of static equipment in accordance with the DPT design package and suppliers fabrication drawings.
Ensuring static equipment is in compliance with Chinese, International and DPT codes and standards as appropriate through the review of the equipment technical data dossier.
Attendance during client's inspection of DPT supplied imported equipment and static equipment internals.
Production of English language inspection reports.
Present findings of any inspection to the clients personnel us.
Interpretation of the requirements of Chinese national codes and standard's in support of DPT UK based engineers.
