1 Assist Designers prepare material selections and specifications
2 Source selected materials, as well as prepare of their specifications.
3 Maintain a database of material, specifications and costs for various materials and furniture in the market.
4 Assist the Quantity Surveyor prepare Bill of Quantities as well as help in the negotiations with selected vendors and contractors
5 Maintain and update cost estimate database including market prices, major material, equipment
6 Maintain a comprehensive library (both with samples and soft copy) of potential materials for construction. This included furniture, carpets, lighting etc etc.
7 Ability to take off quantities from CAD drawings and check against given quotations

Qualifications

1 Some design or construction background preferred
2 Knowledge of local construction project cost estimates, common practices, including regulative requirements, procedures
3 Familiar with cost information in local construction market, i.e. construction material, equipment and labor, etc.
4 Oral and written English proficiency preferred
5 At least 3-year work experience in material sourcing, estimating profession with the exposure to a variety of project types including commercial, entertainment, environmental, healthcare and etc.
