Responsibilities
- Take overall responsible for software related work in the R&D team
- Follow up new technologies, have a clear view of software technology development trend
- Ensure a successful execution and provide excellent technical contribution to research projects
- Perform strategic research projects in marine Information and control systems, e.g. Power/Energy Control for a hybrid (Diesel + Energy Storage) propulsion system, Marine automation system, Process control software, Energy Storage (Lithium-ion Battery, Ultra Capacitor) control in Marine system, etc.
- Very close cooperation with system R&D members to make software solution for specific system configuration.
- Strong software design (libraries for detected application), to provide a package solution out of PLC, Drive, HMI, Motor, under use of CCB, 800xA platform, or Matlab / Simulink,
- Support the preparation of technical requirement specification and concept design for new function block and libraries
- Design/maintain, verify and document function block / libraries, follow development process
- Do reviews of test specification and test results


Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher (Master) majored in Electrical Engineering, Industry automation, Communication, Electronics, Computer Science, or other related areas. With more than 4 years related work experience (preferred).
- Experience in HMI and PLC development with ABB 800xA is preferred.
- Experience in system architecture design.
- Experience with software quality management tools
- Strong software development background, familiar with all aspects of the software development life cycle
- Experience in application of energy storage (Lithium-ion Battery, Ultra Capacitor) system is a plus
- Solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills
- Competence of application-oriented research works
- Excellent innovation capability
- Self-motivated, high curiosity and ability to learn about new technologies
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in both oral and written English
