Imagine a world in which users are not limited to communicate and interact with devices using keyboard and mouse but with spoken language. The device, equipped with the cloud based service, has the ability to recognize user’s speech, understand user intent and respond with natural speech, display words and phrases on the device surface and provide suggestions to facilitate the most natural form of human communication since the beginning of human civilization. Not only will the device convey the message across, it will display a personality that emotionally engages with the end user and creates a deep impression.
At IPE China, as part of the Bing Information Platform, the language generation team is building the technology that enables us to fulfill this vision. The language generation team builds the platform and the framework with a rich set of features that enables different components to generate natural language output. We are looking for a smart, talented and technically oriented program manager to help deliver the service.
As a program manager, you will work closely with the engineering team to define scenarios, design the platform, services and tools and drive the product development cycle. You will need to collaborate with different teams within Bing division in both US and Beijing, define and publish technical specifications and work with our partner teams in the company to bring the experience to our customers.
This position requires an experienced program manager who can work independently with little supervision. Here are the detailed requirements:
-Strong organizational and project management ability with good interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills
-Solid technical background, with a degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent
-Strong grasp of software engineering principles and at least 4 years’ experience in releasing software products and online services
-Proven track record in customer-focused innovation and the ability to pick up new technical domains and spot industry trends quickly
-Knowledge and experience in one of more of the following area is a plus: linguistics, natural language processing, speech output technology, information retrieval, cloud services and infrastructure.
This position is located in Beijing, China.
