Responsibilities:


This posting is for the Contracting & Procurement (CP) Projects Lead for Shell’s Foothills/ Exploration CS assets,working in the Projects & Technology (P&T) organization,supporting Upstream Americas Onshore Projects work.

The Foothills/Exp CS Project CP Lead (CP Lead) acts as the Lead CP focal point for the Onshore Venture,accountable for all overarching CP issues for the project,coordinating the work of all the Category Managers supporting the project,and negotiation,execution,and contract management for specific project categories assigned to the CP Lead. There are other opportunities to manage specific categories (e.g. construction portfolio) related to the Onshore Gas/Liquids Rich Shale/In Situ portfolio in Canada as well as specific Continuous Improvement opportunities.

Key role accountabilities:

Ensure category strategies are aligned with Health,Safety and Environment (HSE) and Sustainable Development objectives.
Assure early involvement in the project CP strategy development process
Lead implementation of the CP strategy
Ensure PDR/ORP deliverables are complete and fit for purpose for the project.
Analyze and understand business drivers,supply chains,and market conditions to enable Top Quartile strategies aligned with the business.
Manage the sourcing process,including tenders and/or negotiations,contract execution,and contract management.
Identify,develop and implement commercial value improvement opportunities.
Implement supply chain improvement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with CP processes,procedures,and business controls.
Coach junior team members
Develop,Implement and Manage and Monitor Contract Management Plans for Strategic and Tactical contracts
Conduct Contract performance Review (CPR’s) as per CPPM requirements
Role dimensions:



Projects with third party spend up to $500MM/year. Additionally,strategy development,award and contract management for assigned categories with total combined contract portfolio value of approximately $400MM (annualized) with potential growth as a result of continued onshore growth.
Accountability for spending decisions shared with range of project stakeholders.
Staff: No direct reports at this time – potential to build team,as asset continues to grow. Accountable for oversight and steering of category managers supporting the project.

Requirements:


This role is for an experienced Contracting and Procurement professional/ Procurement Manager:

-(15-20) years of relevant experience
-background in oil and gas, mining or other asset-intensive industries
-possesses a mix of technical credibility
-very well developed influencing and negotiating skills.
-SCMP designation from PMAC is a plus as well as team management experience.
-Past experience in a project environment specifically managing contracts and purchase orders in projects is essential.
