Responsibilities:

Shell Albian Sands is comprised of the Muskeg River Mine (MRM) and Jackpine (JPM). The Muskeg River Mine (MRM) organization includes a mining site and plant facility currently producing 135 bbls per day and employs approximately 1,400 employees, of which about 800 are hourly employees (including 600 operators of heavy mobile equipment and field operators and 200 maintenance and reliability crafts). There are also about 1,000 contractor personnel covering all areas of the operation. In addition, the Jackpine Mine (JPM) includes a mining site and plant facility which currently produces 100 bbls per day and an additional 700 employees putting Albian to a capacity of 255 bbls per day. The site is situated in the rapidly growing city of Fort McMurray (Population 70,000), Alberta,Northern Canada & operates as a joint venture (60% Shell,20% Marathon and 20% Chevron). It is part of the Oil Sands Class of Business within Shell Upstream Americas. The site location is 80 kilometers north of the city and average travel time is 1hr - 1.15 minutes each way.

The Mine Production Excellence Analyst develops and analyzes daily KPI reports for Mine Operations. The Analyst other roles consist of and not limited to: Capital IP development, Mine planning support, Mine Operations budget monitoring, budget forecasting along with Field studies/LEAN projects and mining mobile equipment monitoring.

The Mine Production Excellence Analyst is responsible to help with reporting out and optimizing equipment usage within the mine with the use of KPI metrics. Also the position will report out Mine Operations spending and forecasting in regards to the submitted budget. Opportunities will arise in regards to supporting Training with operator metrics and simulator usage information. Secondary role will include supporting field study evaluation along with LEAN project participation.

Accountabilities:

· Report out on weekly production to target

· Report out on Shift Change and Pit stop gains

· Report out on monthly Operations progress against Business Plan

· Field studies including Grader/Dozer/Shovel/truck metric development

· Monthly update of Spotfire report

· Monthly update of operations spend versus budget

· Monthly forecast of operations spend

· Mid range planning support with regards to equipment KPIs

· LEAN project data gathering

· Capital spend monitoring and spending

· IP development for equipment purchasing

· Blast performance monitoring

Requirements:

· 1 – 3 Years of related work experience

· Experience working in the mining industry is considered and asset

· Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, Modular, SAP, PI, and/or other word processing spreadsheet software.

o Experience in building/ working with Macros in Excel, is a strong asset

· Ability to plan and deal with urgent issues in a timely fashion.

· Ability to work well independently, as well as within a team environment.

· Strong ability to communicate and present findings

· Ability to deal with fast pace environment

· Ability to meet time lines

· Work Schedule is: Monday- Thursday, 10 hours/ day
