职位描述

- From our C&L Team, Siemens are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to support Industry Sector business.


Mission of Function:
To contribute to the business goals of Siemens and to protect the Company’s reputation for integrity by
- providing business oriented legal advice and counseling within assigned area
- taking responsibility
- bringing in specialists, where appropriate
Dimensions of Function:
- Responsibility for various legal matters with medium complexity
- Specific tasks assigned
- Financial impact low or medium (risk / opportunities)

- Other legal counsels, especially within same BU/BS and Division, Contract Management and Specialists
- Business Partner
- Compliance
- Other Corporate functions
External:
- Outside counsel
- Technical experts
- Government officials and regulatory authorities at working level
- Customers / suppliers / external business partners and their internal and external counsels
- Legal associations
- Arbitrators and judges

What are my responsibilities?
Ensuring effective legal risk management (operational focus)
Address legal risks and opportunities by
- proactively identifying them and bringing them together with a proposal for the solution to the attention of the business partner
- applying entrepreneurial and legal view point in order to mitigate risks and to realize opportunities which otherwise may have been missed.
Counseling Business Partner
Counseling Business Partner in assigned area by
- gathering the facts
- analyzing independently the legal framework
- bringing in specialists if necessary
- providing appropriate advise
- assuming responsibility in order to contribute to success of business.
Managing legal proceedings
Managing legal proceedings by
- gathering facts
- analyzing legal situation
- setting up strategy
- bringing in specialists if required
- liaising with external lawyers
- effectively managing costs in order to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities.
Managing claims
Managing claims both offensive and defensive by analyzing the contract and setting up the strategy in order to optimize business position.
Effective legal control of agreements and tenders
Effective legal control of agreements and tenders within assigned area by
- drafting, reviewing and negotiating all types of agreements
- taking responsibility for LoA legal risk assessment (if applicable)
in order to safe good opportunities and to identify and mitigate business risks.
Internal knowledge sharing and training
Share legal knowledge within Legal Department and by
providing up-to-date knowledge tool, training materials and sessions in order to maximize the benefit of best in class legal community and proactively influence Business Partner's behavior to identify business opportunities and minimize risks.
Reporting
File reports on material legal risks and proceedings by
- collecting, summarizing and updating data
- using IT-Tools and experience in risk evaluation
in order to meet the requirements of SEC, auditors, audit committee as well as capital market regulations and to inform on relevant data and risks.

Managing outside counsel
Manage outside counsel by
- selecting and retaining them
- clearly instructing and supervising them
- taking decisions in consultation with the external lawyers
- managing costs (e.g. create proper budget, agree on fixed fees, caps, rates, negotiate rebates, check invoices)
in order to achieve cost efficiency and high value and timely legal advice.

What do I need to qualify for this job?
Experiences:
1. Fully educated lawyer with excellent academic background. At least a bachelor of law degree, and preferably also a master or doctor of law degree from an accredited European or American law school. Bar admission is a must.
2. At least 5 years of professional working experience.
3. Strong collateral leadership; Be able to effectively work with team members and with cross-function partners.
4. Experience with European or American law firms or multinational companies is preferred.
