Technical Evangelist:

Do you want to help customer success by reusing your technical knowledge and experiences? Do you want to drive more breadth impact by evangelizing hundreds of thousands of OSS developers in China? Do you want to change people’s life by building next generation solution cross mobile internet and cloud technologies? If you answered yes to these questions, this is an exciting opportunity for you to formulate and lead developer engagement initiatives for Microsoft wide product lines.
The candidate is expected to be of high energy and character, and have the ability to influence and inspire. This position would require a strong mix of business and technical insights to manage strategic and tactical level planning and execution of outreach and engagement programs through a wide variety of engine into different type of audiences.
This role is a member of the Microsoft Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE) team. The DPE mission is to secure Microsoft platform adoption and revenue growth through evangelism, community engagement, apps ecosystem and a vibrant solutions ecosystem. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a comprehensive strategy in specific technical area - mobile Internet and cloud that sets the vision and direction for breadth developer and technical audience evangelism, including engagement and adoption, readiness and marketing, and execute to achieve the setting objectives.
- Work with top apps partners, Independent Software Vendors, professional developers, OSS communities, and enterprise customers to drive adoption of Microsoft technologies. Have a detailed understanding of their requirements and translate to the value of Microsoft technology.
- Drive highly visible lighthouse wins that lead to compelling evidence and customer references.
- Build healthy apps ecosystem for both devices and cloud services.
- Drive satisfaction through engagement with partners/influencers by being the face of Microsoft among industry audiences in the Local Software Ecosystem.
- Drive perception change through the next generation of technologies and early adoption.
- Establish and maintain credible technical/business relationships with various parties by becoming a trusted advisor for their development and business strategy, communicate effectively both internally and externally;
- Analyzing various parties and identifying their business and technical challenges, crafting business value propositions, engaging with key decision makers to secure a commitment to Microsoft technologies, acting as an advocate within Microsoft;
- Speaking at developer and industry conferences, producing content, demos, and other materials, and providing training in its delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ Years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) required, Masters or Ph.D. preferred.
- Strong familiarity with the software industry and its trends, build and maintain deep understanding of:
- Developer life cycle, Microsoft developer tools strategy, including Visio Studio and .NET frameworks…
- Variety of Microsoft products, technologies, and solutions into heterogeneous environments
- Maintain knowledge for other apps platforms, technologies and products, like Android, HTML5, iOS, AWS…
- Strong interest and passion in working with the latest technology across a broad range of computing software
- Strong analytical skills, result oriented to achieve objectives and solve problems
- Strong negotiation, organization and time management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with public speaking experience, enjoy working with people and helping others to success
- A self-starter, quick learner, highly motivated towards self-improvement and development awareness, good team player with skills to coach others
- A blend of curiosity, creativity, persistence, commitment, passion and optimism is desired
- Experience in managing projects preferred but not required
