PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
The CDOIC Marketing and Admissions Manager’s profile is defined by integrity, clear and open communication, high standards, and an understanding of the needs and interests of students and parents.
The Marketing and Admissions Manager:
- has the ability to analyse situations, reach sound conclusions and resolve issues effectively. He/she has a proven capacity to respond to changing needs with vision, and to translate vision into practical reality. He/she has a strong commitment to quality and transmits this message to prospective parents and students;
- can work with genuine enthusiasm and personal integrity in a sales-oriented environment;
- is able to convey a sense of enthusiasm for the school and is able to summarize the school’s unique selling points (USP’s) clearly and simply;
- has an understanding of and experience in using information and communication technology;
- has the combination of communication and interpersonal skills necessary for working effectively with parents, students, administrators, staff and BE’s management; he/she relates with genuine interest to children and adults;he/she has higher-order writing and presentation skills;
- enjoys working under pressure in a fast paced environment. He/she is optimistic, resilient, and has a well-developed sense of proportion and humour.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Marketing and Admissions Manager’s primary responsibility is in ensuring a maximum number of enrolments to the school within the admissions guidelines. Responsibilities include:
MARKETING:
? creating, overseeing and managing the school’s operational marketing and business development;
? identifying, prioritizing and implementing organizational strategies, policies and practices appropriate to achieve the school’s enrolment objectives;
? developing and managing a team of Business Development Representatives and Agents; ensuring the team’s productivity, effectiveness and accountability through goal setting, regular meetings, training and other network management methods as applicable.;
? ensuring that the school’s name and reputation are promoted in the most effective ways and proactively managing the school’s involvement with the community, establishing the school’s profile and reputation;
? submitting for approval costeffective, accountable investments in marketing and advertising;
? overseeing the creation and production of publicity materials, including brochures, flyers, posters, and the full range of opportunities to disseminate the school’s corporate identity;
? managing the school’s website and e-profile;
? developing and improving existing operational systems and processes.
? working from within the school community to ensure that the school’s educational provision supports the marketing drive; ensuring the production (by him/herself or by teachers) of press releases and newspaper articles;
? liaising with business to negotiate corporate sponsorship through bequests and scholarships.
ADMISSIONS:(THROUGH THE ADMISSIONS OFFICER)
? establishing initial contact with prospective students/parents, by telephone or in person, ensuring that a personal visit to the school takes place;
? Liaising with Business Development
? meeting with prospective students/parents (closely adhering to the Admissions Script), an informational tour of the school, presenting the unique selling proposition of the school in the manner most appropriate to age and gender and nationality;
? organizing specialist consultations with the Headteacher and other school managers, as required;
? organizing and coordinating the entrance tests and ensuring that any information relating to special educational needs is reliably communicated to school management;
? obtaining reports and references from previous schools, including details of any financial irregularities;
? filling out or overseeing filling out admissions tracking documentation;ensuring follow-up, managing the information flow between initial interest and the student’s entry to the school, and managing an efficient transfer from ‘prospective’ to ‘active’ status;
? liaising with the Headteacher to ensure a smooth information flow to key school and HQ staff, including the Finance department, the Administration Manager and the teaching and boarding staff.
OPERATIONS
The Marketing Manager’s primary responsibility is in ensuring the maximum number of enrolments to the school within the admissions guidelines.
The Marketing manager:
- liaises with the Admissions Officer to ensure that the information flow to parents and to key school staff is smooth.This will involve the Principal, Finance, Operations Manager and the teaching and boarding staff.
- completes admissions tracking documentation.
- develops and improves existing operational systems and processes. He/she identifies, prioritizes and implements organizational strategies, policies and practices appropriate to achieve the school’s objectives.
- projects, promotes and implements BE’s values of integrity, accountability and aspiration for excellence.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Marketing manager will:
? receive in-house training;
? participate in externally-provided professional development;
? report both formally and informally to the Principal and the BE Marketing Director as required;
? participate in staff professional reviews and target-setting relating to renewal of post.
