Objective of job

• Inspect warranty parts according to gala list to ensure correct warranty claim decision.
• Exchange parts quality information with relevant departments

Qualification required

• Education
• Diploma in automotive engineering
• Experience
• Background in the automotive industry with engineering experience
• Excellent analytical, research, presentation and communication skills.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, E-mail and Web.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
• Specific Knowledge
• In-depth familiarity with Mercedes-Benz Warranty procedures, regulations and products
• Comprehensive Knowledge of processes and procedures; accessories, service and parts
• Analytical Skills; Ability to collect data and establish facts and identify trends and variances
• Familiarity with MB Engineering Technology and Warranty Systems advantageous.

Task designation

• Check parts according to packing list and gala list, and report if there are any discrepancies.
• Inspect incoming warranty parts, make findings report, and record inspection result accordingly.
• Check the situation of the parts, e.g. cleanliness, completeness of an assembly/ components.
• Check the attached documents, and define whether it is sufficient.
• Make visual check and functional check, dismantle parts if necessary, and use proper equipment to inspect various parts.
• Communicate with dealers regarding the gala parts relevant issues (negative finding appeal, gala parts delivery, special request…) and provide the coaching to dealers if necessary.
• Formulate regular report and statistics, regarding frequency, discrepancy, positive/ negative findings, packing quality etc.
• Scrape parts after the inspection
• Exchange the parts quality and updated technical information with related business units (QEC, Technical Team, GSP/HQ, Warranty processing team)
• Handle the special parts requests from internal and external business units.
• Carry out other tasks as required and directed from time to time.

As a joint-venture wholesale company, Mercedes-Benz (China) Ltd (MBCL), imports almost the entire MBC passenger car product line to mainland China, and manages the brand, sales, service and distribution for MBC products in China. MBCL also oversees the Hong Kong operation via Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Ltd. (a 100% Daimler AG subsidiary), which manages the imported MBC passenger cars and CV for Hong Kong and Macau.
