POSITION PURPOSE:

? Provide technical support to injection molding process, provide training to technicians and maintain and continually improve molding production and process.

DIMENSIONS:

? Professional position.
? Receives direction from the Operation Manger.
? Must interface effectively with other engineers, technicians, production supervisors/group leaders, operators, customer, suppliers and counterparties in the Headquarters.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

? Maintain and improve the molding process, design and determine tools, fixtures needed for efficient manufacture
? Lead and train technicians to ensure and improve maintenance of all manufacture equipment, molds, tools, fixtures and meters and support related projects.
? Ensure repair of molding equipment and tooling and fix of process in order to meet production schedules, modify equipment as necessary to maintain efficiency and reliability
? Improve molding efficiency by optimizing mold design and maintenance, reducing molding cycle time, and analyzing and planning work force utilization, work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
? Work with other staff to develop and implement appropriate work instruction and use proper process control methods.
? Develop, or source and/or work closely with mold vendors to develop low cost high quality molds and tooling or make modifications to existing ones to improve manufacturing efficiencies.
? Follow up and coordinate with mold vendors to ensure delivery of quality molds meet schedule.
? Coordinate or participate in projects that reduce process setup or changeover time.
? Utilize lean, TQM, TPM, 5S and IE techniques to continuously reduce cost and shorten production lead time, and improve flexibility.
? Perform other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

? College diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in mold design & plastic engineering preferred.
? Three years or above working experience in plasticinjection molding design or manufacturing.
? Good knowledge and expertise on plastic injection molding process and good understanding of mold design.
? Ability to lead and train technicians.
? Need initiative and hands-on experience to resolve problems and able to work as a member of a team.
? Have LEAN, 5S and safety knowledge and experience.
? Have SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

? Usual office and factory floor working conditions.
? Regularly required to sit and stand, and move about the facility.
? Some repetitive reaching, stretching, lifting and twisting required.
? Required to read documents, meters, scales, micrometers, documents and computer screens.
? Working conditions include some dust, dirt, noise, with restricted workspaces, but not to the point of being objectionable
