JOB TITLE: R&D Sales Manager
1. Purpose of the Job:
1. To develop and increase Edwards business in China R&D sector
2. To contribute to the success of the Edwards strategy in China by meeting sales Budget +20% stretch of the sales budget.
3. To contribute to the sales strategies/ objectives and make the R&D sales plan.
4. To show good leadership/support to territory R&D sales engineer

3. Dimensions
R&DSales Manger will directly handle sales in its own territory. The budget expected to be GBP2M in 2011.
4. Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. Technical degree in one of the following subjects: Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Microelectronics or significant experience in the general vacuum industry
2. Sales and negotiation skills
3. Good commercial and technical competence in order to command customer respect
4. High motivation to win business and high sensitivity to customer needs
5. Knowledge of customer's requirements for vacuum, instruments, and other related products.
6. Experience of managing major customer accounts and developing new market with strategic market plan.
7. High level of initiative in problem solving with the customer and post sale support within Edwards
8. Experience of making products presentations
9. Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
10. Good interpersonal skills, both on an individual and team basis
11. Good computer skills
12. Strong business understanding and good knowledge of competitors products and activities
5. Principal Accountabilities
1. Meet sales budget and stretch 20% sales budget
2. Enhance our brand name awareness in R&D sector, develop new channel in this market sector
3. Establish and maintain strong contacts with existing and new customers at all levels of their organisation in order to foster good working relationships and promote business opportunities
4. Conduct customer negotiations and order at all levels, take fully responsibility from quotation making, related products presenting; technical/commercial negotiating; bidding document preparing, order confirmation; customer L/C confirmation; final acceptance/final payment/debts collection etc. assistance of other Edwards managers/specialist when required to win the business and thereafter maintain continuity throughout the sales and service and after care activities
5. Participate and monitor sales forecast monthly.
6. Make/Manage/Monitor/support territory sales engineer of new market development plan and make sure the territory sales agree and meet the targets under the market plan.

?On time visit report/monthly report and information sharing. On time competitor activities/new market information report.

8. Create customer perception of Edwards excellence
9. Make use of the whole organisation to create value in customers eyes

6. Nature and Scope
1. Implement the Edwards strategy at the specific accounts in China and contribute to the success of the company
2. Work closely with the service/marketing organisation in order to meet customers expectations and to be more efficient for the customers and the Company
3. Work closely with the Edwards specialists and experienced people in order to ensure winning business
4. Be flexible, self motivating and organised. Good time management.
5. Be customer oriented in order to ensure customers satisfaction with the Edwards products and services
