Job Description
RESPONSIBILITY
As part of the handset testing team, the validation engineer will be responsible for device characterization to analyze the compatibility of Gemalto’s telecommunication card based solutions with evolving handsets. He/she would study new telecom features and design test plans to qualify handset behavior and propose solutions to fix the root cause of defects found.
Main Objectives
The main tasks related to this job are:
- Participate in the validation strategy definition
- Definition of test plan
- Execution and analysis of the tests
- Provide a status on the qualification progress
- Raise any quality issues and make recommendations
- Propose improvement of existing process to increase test capability and productivity
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Education
? Engineering Degree with major in Telecommunication or Computer Science
Technical Skills
? Knowledge of SIM card specifications like Javacard, STK, BIP and GP
? Interest in telecom technology, especially device behavior and their interface with SIM cards and network
? Knowledge of software development language and tools: Java, C, C++, .NET
? Knowledge of validation methodology
Languages
? English: Fluent
Personal Skills
? Good communication skills
? Good analytical skills, autonomous & thorough
