The primary purpose of this position is to provide on location execution of the regional Supplier Quality Management system to evaluate, qualify, and monitor our suppliers to assure the delivery and quality of products and services that meet the specific requirements of each business unit and customer.

Activities include (but not limited to):

• Participate in project and product management review meetings and identify key supplier actions to support Business Unit operating plans
• Initiate the corrective action process to support product and project management.
• Build rapport and foster proactive communications with regional suppliers and product/project management teams
• Conduct supplier audits, first article acceptance studies, and specification compliance assessments of supplier's products and services.
• Analyze, interpret, and provide recommendations to improve supplier performance in product quality and schedule attainment based upon audits and as received supplier performance.
• Capture opportunities for improvement during supplier development evaluations and ongoing audits.
• Participate in improvement activities with suppliers.
• Collect information and conduct analysis to support approval and selection of suppliers, production lines, process changes, and custom parts.
• Develop sampling plans, inspection methods, and test strategies for supplier products and services.
• Verify conformity of goods and services during project execution and prior to taking ownership during first article acceptance, compliance assessments, receiving inspections, and product tests per sampling plans.
• Assure consistent interpretation of specifications and data input into the supplier performance tracking system.
• Utilize Six Sigma Tools to assure compliance to Critical to Quality aspects and customer requirements: QFD, FMEA, Gage R&R, SPC, DMAIC planning and execution, and statistical analysis with Minitab.

EDUCATION & BACKGROUND

· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

· 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, construction, quality assurance, and quality control

· Demonstrated experience with mechanical systems and structures
