The China Innovation Group (CIG) of Microsoft Asia R&D in Beijing is taking on a new charter to be the Innovation Lab for C&E Engineering Group. We are looking for seasoned applied researchers with great leadership skills and a strong passion for innovation. The successful candidate will lead research and innovation efforts in the area of information management and analytics, with applications in cloud computing and big data.
The CIG team will partner closely with MSRA and teams in C&E and other Engineering Groups to innovate, and build products and technologies that will have an impact on Microsoft’s devices and services businesses.
The candidate will directly report to the head of CIG.
Job Qualifications:
- A PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related areas
- Demonstrated capability in information management and analytics for large data sets
- Core attributes of a research mindset: curious, passionate and eager to learn
- Core attributes of a system research mindset: pragmatic and elegant problem solving skills, love to build systems
- Strong written and communication skills; adept in cross-team collaboration
- 5 years above of industrial experience desired, but not a core requirements
Job Requirements:
Work with applied researchers and engineers in C&E China; interact with researchers of MSRA; lead research explorations; manage, drive and execute multiple parallel projects across multiple virtual teams; effectively communicate with end customers.

Desirable Skills:
1. Experience with research projects a plus.
2. Familiarity with complex event processing and stream processing systems a strong plus
3. Familiarity with Hadoop a strong plus

　　与本地客户和技术社区保持密切互动在微软全球研发过程中至关重要。鉴于中国市场的重要性，服务器与开发工具事业部中国研发团队通过广泛交流,有组织地参与到本地生态系统和技术社区互动中：一）通过微软技术大会（TechEd）、MSDN和TechNet等微软技术网站与广大的本地开发人员和 IT专业人员交流；二）针对目标群体推出了微软技术先行计划(TAP)，微软最有价值专家(MVP)开放日、贵宾接待等特殊项目理解客户的需求；三）与相关原始设备制造商（OEM）、独立软件开发商（ISV）、系统集成商（SI）等合作伙伴开展深入互动。2010年9月，服务器与开发工具事业部中国研发团队组建了微软中国云计算创新中心（CCIC），全力以赴地支持合作伙伴和客户顺利运用微软Hyper-V和Azure云计算产品和技术。
