Bing Index and Knowledge Team
The Bing Index and Knowledge team is seeking candidates who have knowledge in information retrieval, machine learning, data mining and/or natural language processing to improve search user experiences.
Domain areas:
- Document understanding by focusing on language specific word breaking, market detection, accent handling
- Index selection establishing market specific metrics, index NDCG measurement
- Content filtering against spam, junk, adult, malware in language specific market
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: information retrieval, machine learning, data mining and natural language processing.
- Knowing more language would be a plus to the job
- Strong theory/algorithm background.
- Great software design and development skills/experience.
- MS or PhD candidate in CS or equivalent.
- Passion of changing the world with creative ideas.

The new team has not only built up its strengths and expanded its scope, but also set a shared goal, broadened its vision, and is equipped with richer resources that give the team the confidence to scale new heights.
STCA is now focusing on the following areas: the continuous exploration of Bing search technology; the technical innovation of online advertisement services; the development of the MSN social platform; and the development of mobile search applications, and the next generation of Microsoft’s speech and natural language platform. Today, STCA is the largest R&D team of the Microsoft Online Services Division outside the United States with investment plans to scale well over 460 in FY12.
