ABV Conditional Access System

The Conditional Access is a technology which takes several means of effective protections for each service, controls subscribers who have got the corresponding entitlement. Considered as the core technology to assure the operation of Digital TV, it has become an indispensable part in the Digital TV operations.

ABV CAS is a Condition Access system designed and developed independently by ABV, it isbased upon the advanced CA technology from Europe and high security, further developed with global CA operation characteristics. ABV CAS provides a flexible, efficient DVB conditional access solution to operators during every progress between STB integration and each systemapplication. It is becoming very popular around the world.We got approved from many markets, and the number of our users reaches 15,000,000, and the number is still rising. In the world view, we expand our markets over South America, Southeast Asia, Europe, India, Mexico, Africa and Chinese mainland.

There are several scenarios that ABV DRM can be applied: real-time streaming, downloading, off-line copying, etc. No matter with scenario that you expect, the system with the following parts can help: at head-end, the DRM packaging server and licensing server; at client devices, the decryption module.

Packaging Server Before published to the Web Servers, thecontent need to be protect by DRM system. A static license is retrieved from the licensing server and used to encrypt the content. Once the content is protected by the DRM system, it can't be played back anymore without a legal license to decrypt. We use top level encryption algorithm to prevent brute-force decryption, and multi-layer key system to ensure the security of the content.
Licensing Server The Licensing Server can offer licenses to DRM clients to decrypt the protected content. In the scenario that the end users watch the live content or on-line after download, a static license is used when encrypting the content source before publishment. Then the clients receiving the content will need to get the corresponding dynamic license to decrypt the content. In the scenario that the users will download and playback the content off-line, either the user must have a valid local license stored, or it must have an HW secure module installed (optional).
DRM Clients All types of Client Devices must be certified by ABV. If the device is for on-line use, it must be able to retrieve a legal dynamic license from the Licensing Server. Before issuing such a license, the server will check the validity of the device itself. Only devices that have the correct S/N and who have the rights to watch the content can be issued a valid license. In other cases, the devices may be used in off-line cases. Then a HW secure module is recommended to keep the high-level security.
