DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Contribute to consistent business growth by providing unique expertise.
? Cover all MTBU product of JDSU portfolio e.g. MTS-5800/6000/8000, ONT-500/600, etc.
? Cover all Fiber Optics product of JDSU portfolio; OTDR, OSA, Fiber Inspection Tools, ONMS, etc.
? - Cover EBH product portfolio e.g. NetComplete, QT-600, NID.
? Understand real customer requirements. Set right expectation. Propose the right solution. And demonstrate compelling value of our products.
? Transfer competencies and technologies to direct sales and channel partners (education).
? Present Products and Technology at targeted road shows/seminars in the region.
? Provide feedback to Division and contribute to their strategy preparation.
? Share experience and best practices with SSO, Sales, and Division.
? Expect 40% of time for business travel.
? Analyze gaps and propose action plan to fill it.

Technical QUALIFICATIONS:

? Must have a degree in electronic engineering (or similar).
? Over 6 years experience in Field Application Engineer (or equivalent).

Transport;
? Minimum 3-4 years exposure to optical transport industry
? Strong background of optical transmission with excellent knowledge of OTN, SDH and
DWDM.
? Strong background in jitter and wander measurement.
? In-depth knowledge about Ethernet networking especially 10GE, 40GE and 100GE.
? Optical networking knowledge and equipment knowledge an asset.
? Experience in hardware design, sw design and system verification desirable.
? Proficient in automatic scripting with Ethernet connectivity.

Metro, EBH;
? Strong Ethernet network knowledge e.g. Ethernet frame structure, OAM, QoS examples (delay, loss, throughput, etc), RFC-2544.
? Familiar with Metro Transport T&M product e.g. MTS-5800/6000/8000, ONT-500/600.
? Familiar with Ethernet Back Haul T&M product knowledge e.g. NetComplete, QT-600, NID.
? Deep test knowledge e.g. customer’s test procedure, customer’s real unmet needs, test echo-system.
? Proficient in using Server, Unix/Linux system (NetComplete, QT-600 system).

Fiber Optic:
? Deep Fiber technology knowledge e.g. OTDR, OSA, Coherent, C/DWDM, PMD, etc.
? Deep Fiber product knowledge e.g. OSA, OTDR, PMD, ONMS.
? Deep Fiber Industry, Customer, and Test Case knowledge e.g. customer’s test procedure, customer’s real unmet needs, test echo-system.
? Strong trouble shooting skills.

? Excellent communication skills in oral, written, and presentations.
? Fluent oral and written English.
? Ability to understand specific needs and future market trends and provide the report.
? Ability to transfer and provide knowledge to others.
? Ability to listen to, and understand, the opinions of others while holding strong personal views.
? Ability to build effective, healthy relationships with peers, supervisors, and customers.

? Ability to effectively represent the company externally.
? Ability to follow through tasks in a consistent way.
? Ability to pick up new technical knowledge as it evolves.
? Have some experience with Unix/Linux system.
