Title: Research Scientist
SBU: CR&D
Reports to: Technology Manager, Renewable Sourced Material
Location: China R&D Center, Shanghai

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will develop new renewable sourced material and technology with significant impact to company business growth. He will be responsible for new technology development for new product and its new application in renewable sourced material area. In addition, he will lead the open innovation together with external R&D organizations in above mentioned area.
? Develop advanced material formulation and technology based on renewable sourced material and chemicals with novel physical, chemical properties
? Scale up new formulations that offer novel functionality and reduced cost across the globe in a wide range of applications
? Monitor the relative academic research area systematically, evaluate the state of the art science&technology in the area and initiate external collaboration with institutes and universities
? Develop diverse advanced material process technology and fast scouting methods for new material development
? Provide program direction for laboratory technicians

Qualifications:
? Ph.D. in polymer science, material science, biochemistry or chemistry
? Diverse background knowledge in the areas of polymer science, material science, chemistry, biomaterial and material process technologies
? Excellent interpersonal and team working skills are essential, demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
? Excellent problem solving skills and very good communication skills both in Chinese and English
? Able to create/share integrated picture of technology options, in order to drive the team’s innovation/product development efforts
