Maintain and improve the molding process, design and determine tools, fixtures needed for efficient manufacture
Lead and train technicians to ensure and improve maintenance of all manufacture equipment, molds, tools, fixtures and meters and support related projects.
Ensure repair of molding equipment and tooling and fix of process in order to meet production schedules, modify equipment as necessary to maintain efficiency and reliability
Improve molding efficiency by optimizing mold design and maintenance, reducing molding cycle time, and analyzing and planning work force utilization, work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Work with other staff to develop and implement appropriate work instruction and use proper process control methods.
Develop, or source and/or work closely with mold vendors to develop low cost high quality molds and tooling or make modifications to existing ones to improve manufacturing efficiencies.
Follow up and coordinate with mold vendors to ensure delivery of quality molds meet schedule.
Coordinate or participate in projects that reduce process setup or changeover time.
Utilize lean, TQM, TPM, 5S and IE techniques to continuously reduce cost and shorten production lead time, and improve flexibility.
Perform other related duties as required.

qualifications:

College diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in mold design & plastic engineering preferred.
Three years or above working experience in plastic injection molding design or manufacturing.
Good knowledge and expertise on plastic injection molding process and good understanding of mold design.
Ability to lead and train technicians.
Need initiative and hands-on experience to resolve problems and able to work as a member of a team.
Have LEAN, 5S and safety knowledge and experience.
Have SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge and experience.
