Main job responsibilities:
Provide onsite technical product expertise to augment IT staff resources and skills.
Understand, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve customer issues.
Provide a single, onsite contact and escalation management for product escalations.
Provide ongoing software release planning and documentation.
Provide knowledge transfer on products to IT staff.
Define, manage, and execute problem resolution plans and communicate closure/resolution to technical support, SAM, and customers.
Ability to use diagnostic aids, tools and appropriate lab equipment as necessary.
Acquire extensive knowledge on all Brocade products
Job Requirements:
Education level: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Masters in Computer Science, MCSE, or equivalent work experience in a software/support environment.
Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in a technical support environment.
Certifications/Accreditations: BCFP, BCSD, BCSM, BCAF (All Brocade certifications must be acquired within 1 year of employment)
Key competencies
Communication skills: Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and listening skills. Foreign language fluency is a plus.
Technical skills & Knowledge: Extensive experience supporting the following technologies; Fibre Channel, FC-IP, FC routing, FICON, SCSI, iSCSI, Routers, TCP/IP, IP addressing, UNIX, NT, open systems protocols, storage management
