Department Description

The Microcontroller Group is the most critical and exciting part of Freescale. The organization is responsible for the definition and drive next generation 8, 16, 32bit MCUs and Connectivity Solutions. The team has responsibility for roadmaps, IP libraries, new derivatives, and SW solutions. The team is built to support a world-wide and dynamic customer base over a large base of customers serviced through OEM and distribution/ channel accounts.



Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations

The use of Microcontrollers in almost every electrically powered device is fueling a continual market growth. Freescale focuses on customer needs to define the next generation of system solutions for Digital Power applications. This approach requires a deep understanding of the target system to translate customer needs into a solutions approach using semiconductor and software based solutions. The Product Marketing position will be responsible for driving business development in Digital Power in the Asia Pacific region. Solid skills in promotion, market analysis, and general concept marketing are required to drive execution in the team from concept to production on new hardware/software products. The position will act as the single point of contact for in the region for Digital Power customers and regional sales support with targeted revenue and design-win goals for the region.


Position Expectations:


The Regional Digital Power Product Marketing will be responsible for:


“Sell”

- The creation of, and implementation of, marketing plans focused on aggressively promoting of MCU and Connectivity solutions into Digital Power markets, as well as driving new technologies into these markets.

- Extensive travel to key customers and distribution partners will be expected to communicate strategies and solutions for short-medium term revenue opportunities. (30-50% Travel)

- Expectation to interact with the web marketing team to produce comprehensive on-line design resources for target applications

- Interact with Marketing Communications on the generation of collateral, and product family communication strategies for the AP Digital Power market .

- Deliver sales, FAE, partner training, and customer training sessions with the support of MSG Technical teams


“Build”


- Substantive contribution to the development of new hardware and software solutions for the target market.

- Develop white papers

- Participate in Customer tours to determine use case scenarios for new hardware / software solutions.

- Contribute technically to ‘Market Requirement Documents’ (MRDs)

- Work collaboratively with Product Managers across the company on ‘Product Requirements Documents’ (PRDs) and business plans.

- Product management role for ASSP MCU targeting the AP Digital Power Market.

- Participate in standards committees and remain current on industry long range plans to anticipate legislative, economic or technological dynamics


Qualifications:


Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science

Candidate should have proved successful hardware and software design experience in the following applications:

Digital Power Control Systems, Digital Power Management, Online and offline UPS.

Multi-lingual: Chinese /English Required.

5-10 yrs of experience in combined technical and/or marketing role. Engineering background with business experience

Marketing (Technical and Product): Experience marketing new products for semiconductor space.

Knowledge of the Digital Power Market is a plus

Field Applications Engineering experience is a plus.
