This person deals with Food and feed law mainly in China, but also in Japan, Malaisia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Corea, India (the”Area”)… He/she is the focal point who looks after regulatory issues at local level. He/she provides a regulatory support to operational managers and technical teams in the Area, and is a relay with the corporate Regulatory Affairs team at Our client’s International.
Full time position, ideally based in Shanghai. Trips in the Area.
Main missions: The regulatory reference person:
- Develops an expertise in the field of food and feed regulations in the Area: yeast and yeast products, bakery products, nutrition and health products, alcohol, food contact materials and equipment, hygiene, contaminants, labeling…
- Advises and supports the executive, functional and operational managers and their teams with regards to food and feed regulation.
- Provides a proactive regulatory watch: collection and dissemination of information.
- Contributes to the promotion and defense of the Group’s interests, through contacts with professional associations and Authorities: coordination with the corporate Regulatory Affairs, implementation of the Group’s regulatory strategy, anticipation and impact assessment of future regulations.
？ This person works in daily collaboration with In our client ‘s staff in Asia :
o Check regulatory status of products.
o Advise on compliance with applicable regulations.
o On demand, check the regulatory compliance of labels, websites, and other communication and trade documents.
o Help in the preparation of forms and documents to be submitted to the Authorities.
o Assist with official controls and exchanges with Authorities.
o Help in anticipating future regulations.

？ Coordination with the corporate Regulatory Affairs by regular reporting (and physical meeting once a year). When the issue goes beyond the competences of the person, or when the topic is sensitive for the Group, he/she refers back to the corporate Regulatory Affairs.

？ Contact point with the Authorities with regards to regulatory topics :
- Submission of applications and registration files.
- Questions and answers.

？ The regulatory reference person is involved in the work of professional associations. He/she :
- Is the communication channel with professional associations with respect to regulatory issues.
- Attends the meetings of relevant committees and working groups.

This person shall be provided with a strong regulatory and technical support:
- Support and training provided by the corporate Regulatory Affairs and by training bodies.
- Information sent by professional associations.
- Subscription to relevant newsletters and monitoring tools.
- Network (to be developed) of experts and food lawyers in the countries of the Area.
- Appointment of one dedicated contact person in each facility (to be appointed).
- Technical support provided by Our client’s staff in Asia: quality managers, technical managers, R&D managers …
This position requires:
- Legal or scientific background (Master degree or equivalent).
- Previous experience in Regulation, in Quality management or in any related field.
- Good understanding of our processes, products, and competitive environment.
- Good communication skills (verbal & written).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
