Equipment Innovation Engineering Manager (automation dept)

Report to a forginer boss...
Requirement:
1. Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and minimum of 10 years of experience including 5 years in management role, or Masters in Mechanical Engineering and minimum of 8 years of experience including 4 years in management role.
2. Demonstrated ability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems; Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and vision design theory and application.
3. Strong team leadership and project management skills (plan, organize, control, integrate, and complete projects), ability to develop and maintain project schedules and budgets for each project, controlling expenses of each project.& nbsp
4. Strong industry experience in deploying high speed automation process/robotic work cell. Experience in Flexible Circuit board and assembly industry is desired.
5. Ability to create and maintain excellent working relationship with internal and external team members and resources.
6. Ability to function effectively as a member of cross-functional, cross-disciplinary teams
7. Ability and willingness to think creatively (outside the box) to come up with new and unique concepts to improve process, and equipment design, and test methods.
8. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, MS Project, as well as 2D and 3D software design tools.
9. Excellent understanding of lean, six sigma, TPM or ISO9000 quality management system. Knowledgeable in the latest factory automation technology and ability to work in a fast pace environment.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to establish and maintain excellent cross functional relations with various company departments as well as vendors is essential.
11. Effective bilingual in English and Chinese is required.


Job duty:
1. Proactively research, create and develop new and innovative manufacturing equipment and process solutions to support growth, leadership and profitability objectives of the company.
2. Provide expertise and recommendations on available technologies and their applicability for new processes and equipment as it applies to current and future products.
3. Drive and lead new equipment and process innovations and design improvements for existing and new products and processes
4. Identify new improvement opportunities, develop project Plans, and manage a team of engineers for projects leading to new methods, processes, and equipment utilizing leading edge technologies in flexible PC Board, SMT assembly or similar industries.
5. Keep abreast of new technologies and research new methods, equipment and processes. Investigate and create links and alliances to industry leading experts and suppliers, non competing business and research institutes/companies to identify and assess new technologies and their applicability.
6. Manage scale-up processes from trial/ pilot to full-scale manufacturing while working with cross-functional and cross-site team members as well as vendors and equipment suppliers in the development of new equipment/processes.
7. Develop a strong and competent design team of mechanical design engineers, electrical engineers and engineering technicians for in-house development of innovative processes and equipment solutions using the leading edge technologies. Manage, and provide technical leadership to the team.
8. Develop the technology specifications for new technology for pilot testing & validation.
9. Create /review and approve: design ideas, cost analysis and ROI, equipment/process specifications and test protocols. Manage planned actions, and project schedule/ key milestones.
10. Interface with manufacturing engineering, quality, and facility to coordinate installation, commissioning, training and handover of new equipment/ technology.
11. Create department and capital budget/justification, and maintain approved budget.
12. Balance project workloads to maximize progress against key deliverables
13. Provide routine project progress report to upper management.
14. May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
