Job Description
Microsoft (China) Co. Ltd. is currently looking to recruit extremely talented, highly motivated and productive software engineers (3 positions) to join our prestigious Social Computing Platform (SCP) team. The successful applicants will be responsible for the design and conduction of new prototype software concerning web-based data streams. E.g., a typical application in such scenarios would be discovering the social relationship between people based on their behavior on the internet. You will have the opportunities to working together with world class researchers and developers and be expected to deliver high-quality features on the monthly basis. You will be empowered to influence millions of end users while impacting Microsoft’s company value.
Team / Department Mission
1. Work with other disciplines and teams in SCP on identifying problems related to web-based data analysis, and exploring and developing solutions to these problems.
2. Work with other researchers and software engineers to deliver a highly relevant, high-performance, high-availability search experience to the end users.
3. Analyze terabytes of data by using data mining, machine learning, statistics, and database techniques. The goal is to measure / understand user behavior and business health, generate actionable insights for improving search systems, and increasing user satisfaction.
Desired Knowledges, Skills and Experience
1. Strong background in software development and experience with C/C++/C#/Java.
2. Ability to work independently and in a team to come up with innovative solutions to challenging business/technical problems.
3. Passion in very large real world data processing / analysis, especially with web data; and for shipping features to the end users at a very fast pace (every month).
4. Good communication skills (both verbal and written) in English.
5. Practical knowledge of typical algorithms and good understanding on how to apply these algorithms to solve real problems.
6. Practical knowledge of machine learning, data mining, or information retrieval techniques is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent required. M.S. is preferred.
Additional Information
This position is located in SuZhou, might need to travel to Beijing or US.
