职位描述
? As a safety lab contact person, work closely with the synthetic chemist (SC) and process chemist (PC) and carry out risk analysis of assigned projects in timely and well-planned manner with high quality ensuring their safe scaling up
? Carry out desktop screening/literature search, design and conduct decision making safety tests to identify special hazards and propose safety measures or suggest alternatives as early as possible
? Identify and plan safety tests appropriately for a process step
? Perform thermal stability and reaction calorimetry experiments as needed (e.g., SEDEX, DSC, RADEX, RC1e). Interpret results, evaluate data, draw relevant conclusions and write/review formal test reports
? Timely share/explain safety test results safety measures with PC/SC in an accurate and organized manner to ensure the successful implementation of safety measures when scaling up
? Help develop and maintain the Development Risk Analysis (DERA) program and perform DERA analyses.
? Write comprehensive safety risk analysis reports and give well-organized presentations.
? Work closely with the pilot plant operation crew and solve safety and environmental problems that may be encountered upon scale-up.
? Manage changes of assigned projects
? Document safety test reports and risk analysis reports in an appropriate manner
? Contribute to continuous improvement of work flow
? Keep lab in a safe and orderly manner and maintain lab instruments.
? Contribute to continuous improvement of safety lab work flow
? Work under appropriate SOP's, HSE, and other guidelines
Requirements:
? Master or above in Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with thorough knowledge of organic chemistry and chemical engineering fundamentals (synthetic chemistry, catalysis, kinetics, thermodynamics, and mathematics).
? Academic or industrial experience in process safety and thermal analysis, or process chemistry preferred.
? Sound understanding of pharmaceutical industry and process chemistry.
? Outstanding experimental skills, especially in working with calorimeters and analytical instruments.
? Excellent computer software skills.
? Proactive and self-motivated.
? Team spirit to work in an interdisciplinary project team.
? Good interpersonal and communication skills.
? Excellent scientific/technical presentation and writing skills.
? Chinese native speaker; good English language skills.
