Microsoft Search Technology Center Asia (STCA) was founded in 2005 and has started its second “Five-Year Plan” after the merge with the Ads Platform Center in 2011. The team has not only built up its strengths and expanded its scope, but also set a shared goal, broadened its vision, and equipped with richer resources that gives the team the confidence to scale new heights. STCA is now focusing on the following areas: the continuous exploration of Bing search technology; the technical innovation of online advertisement services; the development of the MSN social platform; the development of mobile search applications and Speech technology. Today, STCA has hundreds of excellent employees and is the largest R&D team of the Microsoft Online Service Division outside the United States.

We are expanding to a new Natural Language Processing organization in Su Zhou, China. You will be one of the first pioneers to make your impact on the quality of our online products, such as Search, Ads, Bing Dictionary, speech and text understanding platform. We work with Microsoft Research Center closely in order to keep ourselves on top of the cutting edge technology. You will be not only developing and improving products, but also incorporating proven techniques and inventing new techniques in machine translation, speech recognition, conversation understanding and information retrieval. This is a research and development fusion center that aligns research results with product development tightly.
Your main responsibility will be including but not limited to
- Build tools and automate processes for partners.
- Improve and/or implement reliable and scalable training infrastructures for training machine translation models, acoustic models, language models, and dialog models.
- Apply or invent technologies for language expansion.
- Apply or invent technologies for domain scalability.

For development positions, we are looking for both junior and senior, motivated and energetic engineers. For scientist positions, strong background in one or more of the following areas are preferred:
- Natural language processing and generation,
- Machine learning (neural network, CRF, SVM, HMM, etc.),
- Conversation Understanding, and Dialog modeling,
- Domain adaptation,
- Machine translation
