Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities
Description: Release manager for Oracle and Siebel environments is a highly visible and critical role with GE Healthcare. A Release manager is responsible for understanding the strategic direction of a release platform and determining the quantity and frequency of each release environment. This decision is made by consulting the functional stakeholders, applying the blackout dates, adjusting for physical inventories, and highlighting risks around major holidays. In addition to the Macro responsibilities just described, the release manager also has micro level tasks that include understanding each program, coaching, facilitating and advocating for the programs to help them maintain their targeted release timelines. A successful release manager drives predictability and success among multi-dimensional stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization. Key Responsibilities Include: • Create schedules and coordinate release activities in a highly matrixed environment. • Effectively manage release timelines, anticipate delays and proactively work to resolve issues. • Create, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of the release metrics and schedules. • Assess the release progress and drive on time delivery. • Comply and support Quality Management System (QMS) and other regulatory requirements. • Coach and mentor project managers and build organization knowledge about release management activities, standards and processes. • Manages all aspects of one or more small to medium projects concurrently from initiation through closure • Develops, sells and implements comprehensive project plans, encompassing project team structure and resource assignment, implementation, testing and training plans, creation of a control plan identifying both business process metrics and IT platform quality requirements and ensuring successful transition to support and maintenance teams • Owns all project risk; including time, budget, and scope, and the associated plans to contain and/or mitigate risk • Identifies critical path decisions, makes recommendations and influences program leaders and business process owners to maximize project payback • Manages daily activities, issue resolution and communication across project execution teams in order to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, as-requested by customer


Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:• Project management skills with documented track record of delivery • Strong analytical and organizational skills• High energy, self-directed individual• Flexible work schedule - able to adjust availability to work effectively with international teams• Experience with process quality methodology• Experience with two or more core infrastructure technologies (compute, network, database, etc.)• Demonstrated project management skills including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and communication • Project management experience in global environments• Awareness of and ability to deliver compliance requirements• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization• Demonstrated ability to excel in a global matrix organization• Strong leadership skills• Analytic, creative and business focused problem solver• BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent • Minimum five years IT experience of which two years should be in project management or equivalent Preferred Qualifications:• Knowledgeable of Siebel or Oracle ERP applications• BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent • Understanding of internal GEHC processes and tools such as Resource Allocation Process, IT Project Management Process, ITG tool, Quality Center, Support Central and Workflow tools.• Black Belt or Lean Six Sigma certified• Leadership Training Program Experience (IMLP, OMLP, FMP) • Lean experience• PMP / ITIL certified • Experience in the Healthcare industry
