Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities
• Plan, execute and measure Greater China media and messaging strategy in support of the company’s business growth in Greater China and Mongolia • Oversee and manage key media relations in Greater China to enhance GE’s share of voice and reputation through storytelling and thought leadership positioning • Partner with business communicators to drive awareness and implementation of operating rhythms and practices for media Center of Excellence (COE) • Support and coordinate with GE global media COE for regional execution and global story feeds as part of the company’s overall media approach. • Lead social media content generation (GE China website, Weibo, WeChat) to maximize communications impact for the GE corporate brand and employer brand initiatives • Ensure media strategies are integrated, aligned and drive improvement to various corporate and business communication efforts • Issues management and crisis management • Manage PR agency and other external resources to ensure value and adherence to objectives and budget

Qualifications/Requirements
• A degree in communications, journalism and in a related field or equivalent• Minimum 6 years of solid experiences in a public relations or journalism position; Must have prior related experience in multinational environment or PR consultancy; Prior experience in journalism or B2B field will be a definite advantage;• Strong bilingual writing skills in all kinds of related journalistic materials including press release, feature article, op-ed, speeches, fact sheet, etc.;• Excellent oral and written in English; • Solid media knowledge and crisis management experience;• Comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of the China market. Excellent network of contacts with China’s senior / influential media, industry associations and opinion-leaders;• A creative, strategic thinker but pragmatic and hands-on in execution; Strong planning and priority setting skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;• Effective interpersonal / communications skills including excellent Chinese public relations writing skills; • Comfortable around both foreign and local senior management; bi-cultural• Proven experiences in managing agencies and project teams; Ability to identify and organize resources
