Role & Responsibility:

After an initial training period, you will be heading the Beijing ODM Project Management team which is in charge of managing Technicolor’s Gateway, Set-Top-Box and Tablet development projects with our ODM partners. These partners provide design and manufacturing services to Technicolor.

Your job will be to manage the Beijing based Technicolor ODM Project Managers as well as managing the partners in order to successfully deliver products to our customers. Additionally, you will contribute to the process synchronization with Technicolor’s Product Lines, Sourcing Department and Operations Departement on topics related to the ODM programs.

In this role, you will report to the world-wide manager of ODM Project Management.

Job description:

§ Daily people management of Technicolor’s ODM Project Management team in Beijing. Team consists of ODM Project Managers whom are leading Gateway (DSL, Cable, LTE, GPON), Set-Top-Box (Cable, Satellite, Terrestrial) and Tablet development projects.

§ Liase with the Technicolor ODM Hardware, Mechanical and Industrialization managers to assure seamless collaboration within the overall ODM Group.

§ Management of the partners (Asia) for the R&D aspects of the ODM programs. Assure that the partners provide a best-in-class service to Technicolor and continuously invest in improvements and expertise build-up. (processes, technologies, cost, quality, time-to-market)

§ Accountable for the successful delivery of ODM programs to Technicolor’s customers, specifically related to the R&D aspects.

§ Contributor to the ODM R&D processes.

§ Interfacing to Sourcing and Operations Departments to assure a good synchronization. (processes, strategy, project-status,…)

§ R&D representative during selection / audit process of new ODM partners.

Required profile:

General

§ Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin: both written and orally

§ Results-oriented team-player

§ Willing to travel abroad for short periods.

§ Flexible in terms of working-hours (late/early conf-calls because of time-zone differences)

Specific

§ Master’s degree (or similar by experience) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

§ A good technical background (hardware, mechanical engineering, manufacturing), preferably in Consumer Electronics equipment.

§ At least 5 years Project Management experience, preferably in managing 3rd party suppliers (ODM/OEM/SoC suppliers)

§ At least 3 years people management experience (small to medium sized teams).

§ Previous Gateway, STB or Tablet design experience is a strong plus.

§ Previous sourcing or manufacturing experience is a plus

Quality management experience is a plus.
