Job Responsibilities

1. Responsible for liaison/interface between customer and PTC design/development departments. Manage relationship with customer engineering.

2. Lead integration of Mechanical, Electro-hydraulic and Electronic drivetrain modules and systems into customer vehicles. Lead DFMEA and DVP&R reviews with customers. Support analysis of prototype parts in customer vehicles/ transmissions

3. Tracks project progress and timing. Track and report product conformance to customer requirements. Maintains open issues lists. Ensure all deliverables & timing are clearly defined and communicated to the organization

4. Works with customer to specify requirements for hydraulic, clutch and electronic control systems for transmission applications. Develop module and component requirements from system requirements.

5. Work closely with Sales to coordinate technical support for new business opportunities and new technology demonstrations. Present product design and system performance and obtain concurrence from customer

6. Assists with the implementation of algorithms and software for control of the transmissions.

7. Assists with vehicle calibration of transmission control systems for customer requirements. Assists/perform vehicle testing with customer or at other locations.

8. Demonstrates effective communication skills, works well in a team and shows initiative.

Essential Functions:

1. Automobile Transmission Knowledge – Basic understanding of automobile transmission function required.

2. Able to understand customer system requirements and formulate them into algorithm and software design requirements.

3. Algorithms – Understands algorithms for control of transmission systems.

4. Calibration – Understands how to calibrate a transmission.

5. Matlab/Simulink and software knowledge is necessary. Software skills and TargetLink knowledge is beneficial.

6. CANape knowledge is required.

7. Documentation Skills – Able to describe his/her work in written form.

8. Communication Skills – Able to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors and customers.

9. Teamwork – Considers and seeks out the impact of his/her actions within the team. Actively seeks collaboration with internal and external team members.

Requirements

1. Ability to work effectively across functional and geographic boundaries in the interest of the customer and the business

2. Bachelor’s Degree or above in Engineering required.

3. 3-5 years experience in powertrain systems. Experience with working with customers and application/systems engineering experience required.

4. 3-7 years knowledge of Matlab/Simulink required. Vehicle evaluation and test skills preferred.

5. Working experience in transmission calibration or relevant. Experience with electronic and hydraulic control systems preferred.

6. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent presentation skills, Excellent negotiation skills

7. Excellent time management skills. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, make timely decisions, and must be detail oriented.

8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
