Based in Shanghai or Beijing
The Role:
This is a new role, reporting directly to the Executive Director, and will be leading, directing and controlling all strategic and day-to-day sales, marketing and retention activities to achieve the business, financial and operating objectives set by the business plan.
Business lines: Maintenance, security, foodservice, cleaning, and remote site management
Base location: Beijing or Shanghai
The primary accountabilities include:
? Work with the senior leaders in leading the development and execution of the company’s business strategy and presence in China to continue growing the company’s business penetration and revenue base (year-on-year growth 2009/2010: +30%) – be in the driving seat strategizing, leading, executing the continued ambitious growth roadmap for the China market across the business lines towards existing and new key accounts and customers with expanding resources and necessary capacity (headcount in China to be increased to over 20,000 within 3 years),
? Pro-actively participate in major decision-making discussions and recommend future direction, strategic action items and resource allocation; develop new strategic relationships to expand the business and the partner base of the Company in China,
? Provide accurate revenues and margin forecasting, build and maintain a sustainable project and business pipeline in China; ensuring timely management information, project status and projections, achieve revenue and profitability targets,
? Lead the business proposition development and manage functionally all sales in China;
? Operate as point of escalation for business units and regional managers regarding key accounts’/customers’ business matters; be the executive sponsor on complex service deals and owning resolution for critical issues, proactively identifying, communicating, driving and resolving all customer-related issues,
? Maintain a high public visibility supported by marketing initiatives, media coverage, representing the Company on-site, at external functions and events,
? Lead in the recruitment, retention, evaluation and development of the sales organization in China; further enhance the China sales team into a cohesive group of top performers and foster an environment where communication and teamwork is effective across business and functional boundaries,
? Manage the marketing function and corporate communications, including the development of new product line offers and facilitate client development through marketing and client services programs,
? Actively structure the retention strategy and planning throughout the organization,
? Act as a role model for the Company’s values and culture; enhance sustainability and succession planning for the sales organizational structure in China.
The Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess:
? Forward-thinking, entrepreneurial, dynamic value creator and collaborative business leader with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, thereof ideally 10 years professional experience in China; relevant industry sector familiarity include business process outsourcing (BPO), property/facility management, retail, hospitality etc.; proven sales and business-building track record of success in a leadership role within a structure of similar size and structure,
? Successful in trust-building and partnering with target segments’ senior management combined professional services aptitude to interact in a convincing manner with prospective and existing customers,
? Strong ability to develop an excellent market penetration and growth strategy and then use it to drive strong business performance and complete implementation of successful sales strategies, customer acquisition and winning edges for China,
? Distinct customer orientation and service fulfillment ability and with ability to structure and attract commercially viable business streams; keen and proven leader and manager in motivating the sales team in a diverse and Chinese cultural environment also using development/training capabilities,
? Extensive experience in planning, directing, organizing and measuring results in a business services environment; demonstrated exposure and accountability in sales operations and management of business units,
? Effective at building relationship with constituencies and subordinates, able to align, motivate and commit the teams towards the strategic and operational objectives in China,
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and knowledge of Mandarin will be a strong plus.
The ideal incumbent has significant presence combined with excellent interpersonal and team-working skills as well as flexibility.
The individual must be energetic and energize at the same time combined with excellent strength of convictions, a self-confident individual who is able to sell ideas, concepts and programs to respective stakeholders.
He / she enjoys the natural ability to work as a team and being a responsive as well as responsible risk-taker, using effective persuasion and relationship skills to achieve the ambitious objectives for the China business.
