MISSIONS:
On exterior & mechanism department, reporting to the project engineer or senior engineer:
- Lead the design / development of mechanism according to the different targets of the project from project early phase strategy definition to late tooling release : in quality, cost, mass and schedule. (Mechanism can include latches, handles, window regulator, wipper system, glass, door hinge and checker, etc.)
- Evaluate and manage suppliers to make product design on time with good quality.
- Enable to write technical specification on the mechanism part based on PSA referance and China market unique requirements.
- Establish and Improve the technical guideline of the team on responsible domain
- Enable to solve the issues from assembly or test. Enable to make improvement for quality, mass and performance.
- Animate a team : Enable to organize one team to fulfil the project target, including product engineer, CAD engineer, BEX and MOEX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Styling / Performance / Cost / Mass
- Propose to project team for the components strategy definition
- Styling brief : technical requirement for mechanism parts in styling developing phase
- Define and realize design with the CAD team, support the section book
- Process feasability checking, by working closely with the process expert.
- Performance evaluation / animation, verify supplier proposal or solution feasibility.
- Class A & style definition surface analysis and make convergence from technical requirement with styling surface.
- Perform durability/safety/NVH analysis, to insure the technical solution choise meet PSA requirements.
- Summary lesson learned and benchmark from China Market; Adjusting PSA requirement to China Market.
- Propose the relative solutions on hard issues, which come from test, assembly or manufacturing.
2 Design
- Need to have following product design, intergration and development experience for: Latches, or hinges, or handles, or door checkers. (mechanism in hood, trunk, or doors.)
- Take into account differents requirements during design and development: Interfaces, Architecture, Process constraints (internal and supplier), performance requirements, cost, weight and quality requirements, milestone delivery...
- Writting Tech. Specification & Test plan (including PSA requirements and China unique requirements)
- Manage CAD design 3D & 2D and release in PSA database.
- Check the robustness (respect of guideline...)
- Propose good solution for hard point in the design issues for mechanism products.
- Process feasability checking, lead technical part of process audit
- Fully understand validation method of the product.
- Lead hard issue solving with supplier after tooling kick off.
3 Supplier Management
- Lead the research of new supplier, realize supplier assessment, control the improvements of the suppliers to reach PSA requirements
- Lead the critical parts supplier strategy definition with JV purchasing department together
- Monitoring the test plan, validating supplier test result.
- Monitoring supplier industrialisation plan and make sure supplier meet PSA milestone
4 Core competence
- Realize & improve guideline, lead communication with PSA French expert as the window person to control the information exchange.
- Organize ? RETEX ? (feed-back) review
- Organize and participate the benchmark activities in China for defining the product strategies.

5 Training
- Realize training for the new comers

Knowledge of the main constrains of the process: Plastic injection/ Foaming/ electronic layout Embellishment/Stamping / Welding / assembly line...

- Product design
Knowledge of the differents technologies used for the products :
Tolerancing, Plastic injection/ Foaming/ Embellishment/stamping / welding / electric and electronic
Be able to analyse the DFMEA, PFMEA
Be able to make the concept choice, according to the performance target & process feasibility
Be able to make the design from concept choice
Be able to make the preliminary study for lamps or mirrors from styling sketch for Chinese regulation compliance, product performance requirements, tooling feasibility, photometry requirements and thermal requirements.

Understand the architecture limitation impact for styling
Understand the process limitation impact for styling
Make styling proposal based on feasiblity
- Supplier Management
Understand the critical charastics for lamp or mirror manufacturing process. Understand how to validate supplier design and validation capability for relative product.
Understand PSA suppliers capability
Support and control supplier to meet PSA specification.
- Communication skill
Be able to speak and listen for English communication. (if know French, it will be a plus)
Have experience of working in cross curtual company.
Have experience of working with cross function team.
