An Industry Leader in Toys is looking to recruit an Asia Pacific Import/Export Manager to be based in their Shanghai office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manager to help establish and implement new processes and gain strong exposure in this new position.
As the Asia Pacific Import/Export Manager you will be fully responsible for managing the import/export processes across the region. Your main focus will be on licenses, approvals, CCC and CIQ and so on for Asia Pacific. By continuously reviewing processes you will aim to make the procedures as Lean as possible and identify areas for improvement. Areas of focus will also include ongoing contract preparation with relevant Shanghai authorities in regards to import/export and customs and establishing and maintaining the shipping and transport network in Shanghai. You will be responsible for dealing with the DC operator for import and export documentation and customs with regards to clearance from the EU. You will ensure all relevant certificates and approvals are all correct for the individual countries and share best practices across the business.
Please note this role is based in Shanghai.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be degree educated in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related and must have gained a minimum for 5 years regional experience of import/export in Asia Pacific and gained specific experience in Shanghai. Candidates must have strong relationships with Shanghai authorities and a proven track record of setting up import/export administration processes from the start.Candidates must have experience working for MNCs with very complex distribution networks and those with Toy or 3PL/Transport industry experience are highly desired. You will have excellent Project Management skills and a very proactive and self motivated mindset. Strong negotiation and analytical skills as well as strong influencing skills and customer focus. Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin are essential. Travel will be required in this position.
