职位描述

SUMMARY

The Media Relations Supervisor, based in Shanghai, is one of media communications contact persons for east and south zone media and responsible for on-going zone media relations development and management to support the team in aggressively tell corporate and product stories.

Additionally, the Media Relations Supervisor is in charge of story pitching for Smart pillar including pitching plan development and execution, message delivery, media communications and clip reports in coordination with product team.

The incumbent will also work closely with internal stakeholders including Ford China corporate and product teams, as well as Ford JV communication teams, to ensure alignment media relations programs in east and south zone.

*Note: the East&South zone media covers key media in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui and Guangdong province.


Roles and Responsibilities

· Support Media Relations Manager to develop, plan and execute of national media relations programs, including media database, competitive intelligence, annual media gatherings, gifting, etc. to build, grow and leverage Ford's relationships with China's business/financial, online, lifestyle, auto and selected IT/Tech media in east and south zone.


To collect and leverage intelligence on competitor media relations activities in east and south zone to inform Ford China's media relations programs;
To set up on-going media communications with east and south zone media, including regular visits, weekly meetings, briefings, interview arrangement and test drive follow up and give media feedback to communications team to maximize the benefit of media relationship established.
To support Media Relations Manager to organize the annual media gathering in key cities, especially in Shanghai and Guangzhou and advance the relationships with zone media.


· Take initiatives in story pitching for Smart pillar. Supervise PR agency and lead the story pitching planning, management and execution by working with corporate and product team.

To aggressively gather editorial calendars and story leads from on-going contact with east and south zone media to enrich the team's on-going media pitches and communication programs;
To set up and maintain a Smart media database, focusing on IT, mobile and auto media, for long term relationship and leverage it to Smart pillar story telling and product messages delivery.

· To manage third-party agency relationships, if any, to ensure that agency partner deliver high quality programs in a cost-effective manner;
· Support corporate and product team in all kinds of media programs, e.g. product launch, test drive, CEGC programs, auto show and other related campaigns, by managing media invitations, RSVP, interview implement, clipping monitoring and reports with team and PR agency supports.
· Execute any other tasks as delegated by supervisor

· Market/Product knowledge: Strong understanding of Company's corporate, sustainability strategy, product lineup and Ford institutional knowledge

· Team player: Strong teamwork skills, quick learner and good ability to execute events thoroughly with minimal supervision


QUALIFICATION

· Bachelor degree or above with emphasis on communications, Public Relations, Marketing
· 5-8 years media communications working experience in multi-national company or PR agency
· Strong knowledge on China media, good connection with key media in south and east zone. Auto industry knowledge is a bonus.
· Good speaking, listening and writing skills in both English and Mandarin
· Good communications skills
