Duties:

• Manage the review of product defect and compliance investigations. Obtain data and technical services from all Company sources to evaluate the matter at issue. Liaise with the markets to assist as necessary and collate the preparation of responses to government inquiries. Report to E&SE and other corporate management on the technical findings and evaluation of Company positions.
• Direct the preparation of accurate, understandable and persuasive presentations and reports concerning the results of technical investigations for both non-technical and technical personnel within the Company.
• Provide continuing technical advice, assistance and engineering support to the OGC and Company engineering activities and, as appropriate, outside trial attorneys and technical experts on safety and compliance related matters.
• Monitor new developments or trends in regulatory enforcement practices, risk analysis and related areas. Work closely with FCSD, Engineering, Test Operations, Quality Office, Finance, Vehicle Operations and OGC personnel and management, as well as senior management.
• Manage internal safety investigations for all of Asia Pacific by identifying and resolving product issues potentially affecting but not limited to safety or compliance.
• Substitute Chair when necessary in the Asia Pacific Critical Concerns Review Group (CCRG). Review potential critical product problems, provide recommendations to management (Investigations Manager) of the vehicle lines and Ford Customer Service Division concerning appropriate safety-related design changes and resolution of field concerns.
• Support engineering investigations and design reviews in conjunction with Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Office of General Counsel (OGC) or others, to drive the appropriate resolution of potential safety/compliance items.
• Support the Global CCRG forum to maintain consistency in actions and approach for all CBGs.
• Recommend appropriate investigations and provide consultation to affect early identification of product problems potentially affecting safety.
• Support company learning and maximize the effectiveness of Lessons Learned. Specifically:
• Develop, maintain, and adhere to FAP’s
• Provide education/training to Ford assembly plants and joint ventures
• Support Prevent Action Closure / Campaign Prevent / Campaign Trends Taskforce processes
• Represent ASO at Technical Review and Field Review Committee (FRC) meetings. Provide recommendations for and participate in safety-related and customer satisfaction product programs. Support the ASO review of and comments on all Fact Sheets, 14D's, Q&A, Customer Letters, Dealer Bulletins, etc. related to internal investigation issues.
• Provide status reports of actions taken to resolve such problems and make recommendations.
• Provide technical assistance to OGC, Design Analysis, Product Engineering activities, as appropriate on matters that have been the subject of internal safety investigations.
