Job Description

Application Architect is responsible for delivering large-scale, complex business transformation programs and integrating processes and technology to help our top insurance client in China achieve high performance business. The architect is responsible for designing robust application blueprint and solution to meet client business agility. With solid knowledge on business operation and application architecture, the architect can help client propose the potential solution, design the detail mechanism, determine the most suitable application boundary to achieve the biggest business gains and the optimized architecture.

Key responsibilities may include

Design the common application architecture asset including framework, principle, guideline and template to guide the delivery team realize an optimized solution for the top insurance client in China.
Design the detailed application architecture includes function module, integration relationship, transmission, data logic etc for the top insurance client in China.
Design optimal application architecture to determine the boundary and relationship between core life and other peripheral systems.
Identify the gap between business requirement and application architecture and propose solution to resolve or shorten the gap.
Shape and Lead large-scale application full lifecycle implementation activities.
Manage delivery team or vendor to achieve project objective and establish the KPI to monitor the progress, risk and issue.
Introduce leading practice in core life insurance implementation to influence client expectation e.g. decoupling.
Influence client direction based on application architecture design.
Establish acceptance of designs with client executives.
Cultivate client relationships and driving revenue acquisition.
Being recognized as an expert on core life insurance application architecture.

Deep experience on application architecture, insurance industry solution and program management includes:
Application Architecture Planning and Implementation
Core life insurance applications architecture
Core life business module and architecture
Core life application architecture leading practice e.g. decoupling.
Application Portfolio Optimization
Requirement Analysis Approach
J2EE Architecture and Java Development
Common Open Source Framework
SOA/ESB/BPM Architecture
Enterprise architecture
Vendor management
Project and program management

Deep knowledge on J2EE architecture and open source framework e.g. Spring, Hibernate, Struts etc.
Deep knowledge on object-oriented architecture and deep OOA, OOD, OOP experience.
Deep knowledge on core life insurance application solution in China market.
At least 2 years consulting firm experience.
At least 3-5 large scale core life insurance business transformation and complex application implementation projects experience in last 6 years (as solution architect or application architect).
At least 8 years working experience with 6 years focus on application architecture era.
Professional certification e.g. SCAJ, TOGAF is preferred.
BS in Computer Science or related, MS preferred.
