JOB TITLE: Commodity Manager/supervisor, MRO-Indirect Material


LOCATION NAME: Shanghai Office



REPORTS TO: Indirect Purchasing Manager, Asia



DEPARTMENT: Global Purchasing



GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Build and maintain spend database for indirect materials in East Asia(China,Korea,Taiwan,Japan).

· Centralize the indirect purchasing for key products, while co-ordinating the local plant spend for less strategic goods.

· Find and evaluate new suppliers, while consolidating the existing supply base across all Federal-Mogul China sites.

· Support the goals of Europe and USA-based Commodity teams on resourcing and cost-reduction projects for indirect material.

· Negotiate and manage service contracts for all Federal-Mogul China sites.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· BA in business or appropriate discipline.

· 5 years experience in automotive industry in Asia. Three years purchasing experience in the automotive manufacturing sector, specifically for indirect material and/or professional services.

· Strong experience on working with/at plant with production team.

· Proficiency in spoken and written English.

· Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese (Mandarin).

· Ability to work across a variety of cultures and mindsets.

· Strong understanding of the key success factors of efficient global supply chain management.

· Ability to work in a team environment across all corporate functions: engineering, marketing, purchasing, production.

· Good written, and oral communication skills. Ability to persuade disparate parties to follow a corporate mandate.

· Computer literate (Word, Excel, Access).

· Willingness and ability to travel.

· Self-motivated, able to manage many projects simultaneously.

· A system thinker able to understand and respond to the broad needs of internal customers.

· Solid analytical skills, with excellent follow-up and attention to detail.
