commodity Manager Asia located in Shanghai
The BU commodity Manager will direct and control the purchasing efforts of material and components for the assigned BU. As the BU Purchasing Manager, he/her would understand and effectively communicate global business trends and drivers that include technological and business footprints with regard to business material and components. The BU Manager will also be involved and track all new Business Development with a main focus for sourcing localization.
Develop and implement Budget Plan for his/her region
Ensure optimal costs for all commodities serving his/her plants. Conduct Commodities reviews and identify cost reductions initiatives for Commodity managers and Plants Purchasing managers/leads
Optimize the number of suppliers for his/her region and improve payment terms
- reducing the number of invoices
- Improve company Cash flow
Localize 85% of the plants spend
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to drive his/her plants to manage Supply Base in collaboration with multicultural Central Commodity Buyers.
Efficiently implement Commodity strategies through his/her plants
Ability to identify plants synergies to develop cost reductions and rationalize Supply base
Manage Team of 8 persons(including in Hongkong and india)
$40 million spend (constant increase year over year)
Major Commodities: Aluminum, non ferrous, Steel, Rubber, Chemicals and Finished Goods, indirect (including Transportation and Packaging)
Budget achievement
Team assessment and implementation of changes if necessary
Supplier reduction and payment terms improvement
Spend Localization
Achievement of 100% original samples passing Customers' validation
Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Fluent Mandarin and English is required.
Knowledge of SAP
Managerial skills and ability present projects to upper management
Excellent Negotiation and Analytical skills
· Bachelors Degree in Business / Materials Management or Logistics required with a preference for an MBA or Purchasing School.
5-7 years Purchasing experience in Automotive industry sector or mass production manufacturing environment
Plant Purchasing management experience is a plus
