Role Summary/Purpose

GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.- The Application Engineering is responsible to lead technical support for Gas Turbine CM&U business in China. He/she needs to generate CM&U opportunities with customers and to work closely with China Commercial team and USA Application Engineering. - Main technology is Heavy Duty Gas Turbine, including F Class, E Class and B Class units but expected to expand to Controls & Accessories as well, with technical support from core engineering teams.

Essential Responsibilities

- Generate CM&U opportunities by evaluating current plant performance and customer issues - Develop the “engineer-to engineer” relationship with strategic customers as identified by the Commercial teams. - Design the customer solution package and provide technical promotion with support from USA Application Engineering team. - Communicates strategic plan and progress of resolution to all levels of the organization - Travel to customer locations to support technical meetings - Provide technical training to GE China Energy Services Sales organization - Present GE offerings at customer conferences in China - Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.

Qualifications/Requirements

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science- 5 years of experience with GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbine installation, maintenance or manufacturing/repair processes.- PC Proficiency including advanced Excel skills- Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English

Desired Characteristics

- 10 or more years experience with GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbine installation or maintenance.- Experience with GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbine Conversions, Modifications & Uprates (CM&U)- Experience with GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbine Controls- Experience with GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbine Dry Low Nox Systems- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills- Experience with Engineering tools such as drawing access, technical library, search functions
