1.1 Description
Beijing Application Lab is the Services and Software branch of Ericsson Research in Beijing.
Services and Software at Ericsson Research are working with developing service layer concepts, solutions, and enabling technologies, covering end-users, terminals, networks and servers for the connected society.
We are working on Mobile Internet and Internet of Things projects, developing enabling technologies for mobile applications, new application and service concepts, and M2M (machine-to-machine) platforms. Our vision is to build and grow technology leadership in Mobile Internet and M2M services and software together with partners and developers.
We are looking for an experienced, innovative, open-minded team player to help us innovate in the area of mobile internet and M2M.
You will be responsible for building new and cutting edge knowledge; developing technical solutions, products, APIs and/or components using the most appropriate technology available; proposing technical improvements; presenting prototypes and papers and do demonstrations; drafting patents while working in projects.
1.2 Responsibilities
- Design and implement web, mobile, and enterprise services and applications
- Monitor and analyze technology trends and make strategies for development of new technology
- Conduct technical studies to be used as input for strategic decisions
- Generate and evaluate ideas for new service concepts and technology
- Define use cases, system logic and solution architecture. Define both hardware and software requirements based on system features
- Perform technical feasibility study and identify technical implementation risks
- Guarantee software quality from code review, unit test and system integration test
- Draw specification and implement server-and-client side of APIs and make proper documentation to publish APIs to external developers
- Maintain relationship with external developers and provide customer support for APIs
- Secure IPR by actively working with patents in the projects
- Transfer know-how and results achieved in the projects by writing reports, seminars

Qualifications
1.3 Qualifications
1.3.1 Mandatory qualifications:
- Master degree or above with a major in information technology, computer science, or related disciplines
- At least 3 years hands-on programming experience in some of the following technologies
- LAMP: (Linux+Apache+ SQL+PHP)
- Web development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST and AJAX
- Java EE: Tomcat, EJB, Servlet, Spring, Struts, and/or Hibernate.
- Self-motivated, flexible and strong passion for programming and developing new technology
- Rich experience in agile software development
- Excellent ability to learn and understand new technologies
- Very strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills
- Fluent in English, both oral and written
- Good communication skills, good ability to co-operate and work with people from different cultures, good team work spirit
1.3.2 Preferred qualifications:
- Experience from working in a research oriented organizations
- PhD in the area of information technology, computer science, or related disciplines.
- Experience from writing patents
- Hands-on coding experience in Android development
- Hands-on coding experience in large-scale Internet services (above 100 million requests per day)
- Working experience in big Internet company (above 1,000 employees)
